The 65th Independence Day, was celebrated with enthusiasm on 15th August 2011 in the Aurangabad Commissionerate. A parade and inspection of the parade was followed by distribution of chocolates to children. Senior officers along with their families were present for the occasion.

 
 The Central Excise Day was celebrated on 24th February 2011, by the officers and staff of Aurangabad Commissionerate along with their families. On this occasion Dr. V.M. Pandharipande, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad was the Chief Guest and Dr. Kankariya, Commissioner of Income Tax, was the Special Invitee. All the officers of the Department, Trade and assesses participated in the celebrations which comprised various cultural and sports tournaments conducted over a week and where officers and staff and their families had participated. Prizes were distributed during the function to all the winners. The Function was followed by a lively musical programme as culmination of Central Excise Day Celebration.
 

 
“International Customs Day” was celebrated by Commissionerate of Customs, C. Excise and Service Tax Aurangabad on 27th Jan. 2011. During the occasion, a seminar on this year’s theme i.e. “Knowledge a catalyst for Customs excellence” was organized in the office premises. Dr. M.A. Lokhande, Prof. & Head of the Department of Commerce was the Chief Guest of the function. The function was presided by Hon’ble Shri. Madhu Mohan Damodhar, Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, Aurangabad. The introduction of the theme was presented by Hon’ble Shri. Anil Shakkarwar, Commissioner (A), Aurangabad. Shri. Ch. Venkat Reddy, Additional Commissioner, presented a glimpse of practices adopted by Australian Customs. Representative of Trade Shri. Sunil V. Raithatha, Director, M/s Vinodrai Engineering Pvt. Ltd., also spoke on the occasion. Shri. Devendra Patil, Inspector, compared the event. Representatives from Importers / Exporters / Trade / CHA / Custodian attended the function.
 

 
The Republic Day on 26th Jan 2011 was celebrated with enthusiasm. The national tri-colour was hoisted by Hon’ble Shri. Madhu Mohan Damodhar, Commissioner, Customs, C. Excise and Service Tax, Aurangabad. National Anthem was followed by parade and Guard of Honour. Uniformed and non-uniformed officers along with their family members and children took part in the programme.
 

 
Online processing of Bills of Entry (document for Custom clearance of Imports), through computerized EDI system, ICES Ver 1.5, at ICD Waluj was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Shri. Madhu Mohan Damodhar, Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax, Aurangabad, on 25.1.2011.

Shri. Ch. Venkat Reddy, Systems Manager & Additional Commissioner (P&V), Shri. Virendra Kumar, Additional Commissioner (Customs), Shri. Om Prakash Lalwani, Deputy Commissioner (ICD) and Shri.Umesh Sakpal, NIC Officer were present at the occasion. Major Importers, Exporters and CHAs were also present during the inauguration.
 

 
Hon’ble Chief Commissioner, Nagpur Zone, Shri. K.L. Bablani, inaugurated Senior Officers’ Camp Office at Shirdi on 10th Nov. 2010.

The Chief Commissioner, also visited the Aurangabad Commissionerate on 14th Dec 2010. During the visit he planted a tree in the Commissionerate premises.
